Effective Dates News - Friday, October 30, 2009
Fannie Mae is extending the effective date for the use of the updated Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003). Therefore, effective for mortgage loan applications taken on or after July 1, 2010, Fannie Mae will require the use of the updated Form 1003. The URLA is available from National Bank Products for immediate use.
The many hoping the Department of Housing and Urban Development would agree to delay the use of the revised RESPA forms were disappointed on 10/19/2009. HUD has responded to the letter from various trade associations requesting that the mandatory effective date for REPSA changes be delayed. In its response, HUD states that "the better course is to implement the new RESPA requirements without any further delay". The only possibility left is for Congree to step in with legislation.
