Reg D changes? - Monday, March 03, 2008
to remove restrictions on the way banks maintain required reserves.  The proposal would allow all banks, not just non-member banks, to keep a balance with a Fed bank or correspondent bank that, in turn, holds reserve balances for respondents in a Fed account on a "pass-through" basis.  Another change would simplify limits on the types of transfers and withdrawals that may be made from savings deposits.  Comments are due 45 days after publication in the Federal Register.
